Commander Jean-Francois Allard, who had been firmly established in the service of the Lahore Darbar since March 1822, took a two year leave from his post in Panjab to return to France in 1834 with his two daughters and wife Bannou Pan Devi - the daughter of the Raja of the Principality of Chamba under the Khalsa Raj. Allard departed Lahore on 30 June 1834 (19 Harh 366/Bk. 1891/AH 1250), with a tearful goodbye to Maharaja Ranjit Singh. While returning to France, Allard had managed to secure an audience with King Louis Philippe I [r. 1830-1848] where he, after some discussion, convinced the French King that he was under the service of Maharaja Ranjit Singh - the Emperor of Panjab. From King Louis Phillippe, Allard had secured a letter as a declaration of friendship. As a result, the King encouraged Allard to also take the position of French Ambassador to the Sikh Empire. Allard wrote a letter to the Maharaja which reached Lahore sometime between 12 May and 8 June 1836, where he described his meeting with the French King. Allard also shared that he recanted many stories of Panjab to his fellow Frenchmen to the point where many men wanted to return to Lahore with him. However, Allard shared that without the permission of the Maharaja, no one will have the pleasure to return with him to Panjab. Upon Allard’s return to Lahore via Calcutta sometime after 20 February 1837, he had delivered the letter to the Maharaja with amicable results. This was a great power move by Allard. As in 1824, Allard was given command of securing the entire Anglo-Sikh Border along the Sutlej River from the Himalayas to Hari ke Pattan - where the former lands of the Phulkian Misl [Rajas of Patiala, Nabha, Jind, Kaithal, Kalsia, Faridkot] decades earlier stood against the Akal Takht and pledged allegiance to the East India Company via security treaties. By doing this, Allard had secured for the Lahore Darbar another new connection in Europe. Something of which an agent of the East India Company later learned of through an interview with the Maharaja.

1834 ਵਿਚ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਨੀ ਬੰਨੂ ਭੈਣ ਦੇਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਬੰਨੂ ਭੈਣ ਦੇਵੀ ਚੰਬੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਚੰਬਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਰਾਜ ਅਧੀਨ ਸੀ। ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਮਾਰਚ 1822 ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੁਕਰਚੱਕੀਆ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਜਰਨ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਲੂਈ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਰਾਜਾ ਲੂਈ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਨਰਲ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਉਥੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਲੂਈ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਲਿਖੀ। ਕਿੰਗ ਲੂਈ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਨੇ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ। ਜਰਨੈਲ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ 1837 ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਪਰਤਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਦਮ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 1824 ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਲੁਜ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਐਂਗਲੋ-ਸਿੱਖ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਸਤਲੁਜ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਫੁਲਕੀਆਂ ਮਿਸਲ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਨਾਭਾ, ਜੀਂਦ, ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ, ਕੈਥਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਸੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਾਨ ਫਰੈਂਸਵਾਹ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਨੇ ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਏਜੰਟ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਲੂਈ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਕਰਕੇ ਲਿਖੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾ ਲਿਆ।

For a long time We [Louis-Philippe, Allard & Council] had eagerly collected and our place, loved General Allard, the Brave of the Brave, Commander of our Imperial Order of the Legion of Honour, has just confirmed to us, all that fame has sown glorious on Your Majesty! From the sacred shores the dawn is born to the fiery shores of the sunset resound and the success of your arms and your prudence under the council, and the ever-increasing prosperity of the Dishes of which you are the creator; the vast Kingdom of the Five Rivers, abode of delight and bliss - the navigation - the ‘desire to contemplate’. Your Majesty [Maharaja Ranjit Singh] on his war steed and to study the marvellous productions of your lands, loved by heaven, will bring some French. We have learned with such inexpressible satisfaction how they [Jean-Francois Allard & Jean-Baptiste Ventura] were happy to meet Your Majesty's aufnes (sic.) a noble and generous asylum a magnanimous confidence, how in return they were able to render services to Him which were rewarded by Her [the heavens] with a magnified clique of His great heart you have above all converted with the brilliance of your benevolence your beloved General Allard, and, his admiration for your person, His devotion to Your service have found favour before You, We believed that we could not to follow a better inspiration than to give our entire confidence to Him [General Allard] who has so well deserved that of Your Majesty the Honour of the [Lahore Darbar] Throne; and in this conviction we have given Him with You the quality of Our Agent so that He may constantly stand by Your side as a living pledge of our memory and of our inviolable and sincere affection. Immense seas separate the Empire of France and that of Panjab, but distances are nothing to friendship; the same knot can unite Princes and Peoples as the same sun shines on them. ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਤਸੁਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ, ਜਰਨੈਲ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ - ਬਹਾਦਰ ਦਾ ਬਹਾਦਰ, ਸਾਡੇ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਕਦਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਇਕ ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਹੈ! ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਵੇਰ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੂਰਜ ਡੁੱਬਣ ਦੇ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਵਧਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੋ ਪੰਜ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਰਾਜ, ਅਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ - ਨੈਵੀਗੇਸ਼ਨ - ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ। ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੰਗੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ‘ਤੇ, ਸਵਰਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਿਆਰੀ, ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਉਤਪਾਦਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕਰੋ। ਕੁਝ ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੀ ਅਥਾਹ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ [ਜਰਨੈਲ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਵੈਨਟੂਰਾ] ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸਨ। ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਨ। ਜਰਨੈਲ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਿਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਫ੍ਰੈਂਚ ਦੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਈਏ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਗੱਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਏਜੰਟ ਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਯਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਹਿਰਦ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਜੀਵਤ ਵਚਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜੇ ਰਹੇ। ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਫਰਾਂਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਦੂਰੀਆਂ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ; ਉਹੀ ਗੰਢ ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਜੁੱਟ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਰਨੈਲ ਐਲਾਰਡ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ [ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ] ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲੜਾਕੂ ਅਤੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱਲਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਲੂਕ ਲਈ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਮਝਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਖੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਮਕ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰੋ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਟੱਲ ਬਣਾਵੇ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਝੰਡਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਚਮਕ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੇ।

ربّ دی وڈیائی


ربّ آپنی انگل نال دنیا نوں مٹی دے کن وانگ تولدا ہے، ربّ برہمنڈ نوں ہلاؤندا ہے۔ ربّ تاریاں نوں گھماؤندا ہے، ربّ سارے موسماں دے پھلاں اتے غرزاں دوواں نوں نینترت کردا ہے۔ اسمانیں بجلی دی ہوند ربّ توں ہے اتے ربّ توں اسمانیں بجلی پھیلدی ہے۔ ربّ دے میزباناں نوں اہ پیار کردا ہے۔ ربّ آسرا دندا ہے۔ ربّ بہادراں نوں پیار کردا ہے۔ ربّ انھاں دی تلوار نوں پیار کردا ہے۔ ربّ جنگ دے میدان وچّ آپنے پریمیاں لئی جتّ دا جھنڈا بلند کردا ہے۔ ربّ انھاں لوکاں نوں شکتی دندا ہے ربّ کوماں نوں نینترن کرن لئی بلاؤندے ہن۔ جدوں ربّ نوں اسدی زرورت ہندی ہے، تاں ربّ راجکماراں اتے لوکاں دے دربار وچّ سلھا، سہمتی اتے دیا دی بھاونا راجیاں دے دربار وچ رکھدا ہے۔ ربّ دے بلھاں توں سچّ، پیار اتے سیانپ دا پھلّ وگدا ہے۔ اتے ربّ دا ہتھ، اسے رنگاں نال رنگیا ہویا، اکو الی وچّ سٹیا گیا، اکّ ہی چلھے وچّ اہناں خش روہاں نوں شدھّ کردا ہے جو اہناں نوں وکھّ کرن والیاں تھاواں دے باوجود ہمدردی لئی کسمت وچّ ہن۔ ~

لمبے سمیں لئی اسیں اتسکتا نال اکٹھے ہوئے سی اتے ساڈی جگھا، جرنیل ایلارڈ نوں پیار کیتا - بہادر دا بہادر، ساڈے راج اتے کدر دا نائک ہنے ہی سانوں پشٹی کیتی ہے، جو کِ سبھ پرسدھی تیری مہما 'تے شاندار بیجیا ہے! پوتر کناریاں توں سویر دا جنم سورج ڈبن دے اگّ دے کناریاں تکّ ہندا ہے اتے تہاڈیاں باہاں دی سپھلتا اتے سبھا دے ادھین تہاڈی سمجھداری اتے سدا ودھدی خشہالی جس دے تسیں سرجن ہار ہو پنج دریاواں دا وشال راج، انند اتے انند دا نواس - نیویگیشن - چنتن کرن دی اچھا۔ مہاراج آپنی جنگی سواری 'تے، سورگ دوارا پیاری، آپنی دھرتی دے شاندار اتپادناں دا ادھئین کرو۔ کجھ فرانسیسی آؤنگے۔ اسیں انی اتھاہ سنتشٹی نال سکھیا ہے کِ کویں اہ [جرنیل ایلارڈ اتے جرنیل وینٹورا] مہاراج نوں مل کے خش سن۔ مہاراجا رنجیت سنگھ دی تہاڈے ولوں اہو جہی کرپا، کیونکِ اہ تہاڈی سیوا کرن دے یوگ سن۔ جرنیل ایلارڈ دی دیکھبھال کرن وچّ تہاڈا دل بہت ودھیا ہے، اس لئی اسیں فرینچ دے دھنوادی ہاں۔ تہاڈے لئی اس دی پرشنسا اتے تہاڈی سیوا لئی شردھا ستکار یوگ ہے۔ ساڈا مننا ہے کِ اس توں ودھیا کوئی پریرنا نہیں ہو سکدی سی کِ اسیں آپنا پورا بھروسا اس نوں دے دیئیے جو تہاڈے مہاراج دے گدی دے سنمان دا انا ہکدار ہے۔ اتے اس وشواس وچّ اسیں اسنوں تہاڈے نال ساڈے ایجنٹ دی گنوتا پردان کیتی ہے تاں جو اہ ساڈی یاد اتے ساڈے اٹٹّ اتے سہرد پیار دے اکّ جیوت وچن وجوں نرنتر تہاڈے نال کھڑے رہے۔ بیئنت سمندر فرانس دے سامراج اتے پنجاب نوں وکھرا کردے ہن، پر دوریاں دوستی لئی کجھ نہیں ہن؛ اہی گنڈھ راجکماراں اتے لوکاں نوں اکجٹّ کر سکدی ہے کیونکِ اہی سورج انھاں 'تے چمکدا ہے۔ جرنیل ایلارڈ تہانوں دسیگا کِ اسیں تہانوں [مہاراجا رنجیت سنگھ] نوں آپنی بھاونا وچّ کنا اچا چکدے ہاں، تہاڈے لڑاکو اتے کھلھے دل والے گن ساڈے دلاں نوں کنا خش کردے ہن اتے ساڈے یتناں نوں پرپھلت کردے ہن؛ اسیں تہاڈے اتے تہاڈی سیوا وچّ وکھّ-وکھّ فرانسیسی افسراں اتے ساڈے سامراج دے ہور یاتریاں توں ملے چنگے سلوک لئی کنے شکرگزار ہاں۔ اسیں چاہندے ہاں کِ اہ تہانوں اہناں بھاوناواں دی پوری ہدّ تکّ سمجھاوے اتے اہ کِ اہ ساڈی موافی دی کھڈّ وچّ آپنی چمک نوں برکرار رکھن لئی مہاراج نال یتنشیل ہے۔ اہ تہانوں اکّ وار پھر اس دی سفارش کر رہا ہے، اتے تہانوں بینتی کردا ہے کِ تسیں اس اتے اتے میرے ہور وشیاں اتے تہاڈی پرؤپکاری دی سمبھال کرو۔ اسیں اس لئی تزربے کر رہے ہاں کِ سدیوی تہاڈی خشی نوں اٹلّ بناوے، اہ تہاڈے پروار اتے تہاڈے لوکاں دیاں خشیاں نوں ودھائے اتے اہ اجے وی تہاڈے جیتو جھنڈیاں دے نردیشک ستارے لئی اکّ نویں چمک دی پرارتھنا کرے۔-
