Khalsa victorious on the road.

7 February 2026: The Khalsa played a strong 90 minutes today on the road against 8th place Shifnal Town. With the pouring rain in Shropshire, the pitch had passed inspection, and the Khalsa played on to an eventual win. An early chance came with a penalty shot awarded to Sam Mark Fitzgerald in the 11th minute. However, he shot wide.

But the push continued. In the 33rd minute, Gurjit ‘Gaz’ Singh netted one on a great setup. Going into the second half, Gaz Singh was substituted off in the 64th minute for Luke Shearer. Three minute later, Chay Tilt scored his team-leading 14th goal to make it 2-0. The Khalsa then again were awarded a penalty shot to which Andre Landell netted his 10th goal to kick the lead up to 3-0. Four Shifnal Town players were given yellow cards throughout the match, including Captain Kyle Bennett. Shifnal scored one late into extra time, but it was not enough as Khalsa took down the road win.

The club now sits at 17th with a 3 goal differential from 16th place Newcastle Town. Khalsa play again on Valentine’s Day against 14th place Kidsgrove.

Khalsa drought continues.

3 February 2026: The club had a great opportunity to push further away from the bottom four relegation places by securing a victory over Newcastle Town. Unfortunately, the outcome was not the one yearned for.

Newcastle Town opened the scoring in the 29th minute. In the 38th minute, Khalsa player Zach Kourouiyanni was handed a red card in an attempt on stopping Newcastle from scoring once more. Newcastle would score twice more in the 45th and 84th minutes. But not before Captain Kristian Green would net one in the 58th minute. The final was 1-3.

Newcastle Town now push further to 16th, while Sporting Khalsa still hold the 18th spot above the 4 relegation positions, that too on a tiebreaker with the Stafford Rangers and Darlaston Town respectively.

In fact, Stafford and Khalsa are neck-and-neck, with an identical record, goals for, goals against, and goal differential. On Saturday, Stafford play 13th place Witton Albion. Khalsa in turn play 8th place Shifnal Town. A difference in goal differential at minimum remains the key.
