ملک مرید تتھا چندرہڑا سوہیا کی دھنی گاونی ۔۔

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
اکُ اوئنکارُ ستنامُ کرتا پرکھُ گرپرسادِ ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): One Universal Creator God. Truth Is The Name. Creative Being Personified. By Guru’s Grace:
(Manmohan Singh): There is but One God. True is His Name and creative His personality. By the Guru’s favour He is obtained.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): In the Name of the Sole Supreme Being, Creator-Immanent, Realized by the holy Preceptor’s Grace.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): There is but one God Truth Incarnate. The Master Creator. He is realised through the grace of the True Guru.
(Darshan Singh): God is one, true is His name, He is the creating person, realized by the grace of Guru.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): By the Grace of the one sublime Lord whose Name is Truth, is our Creator and it attainable through the Guru’s guidance.
(Anmol Singh Rode): Ik Oankar–The One Creator, Truth is The Name, Karta Purakh–Creator-Master, By the Grace of The Guru.

ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਵੇਕਾਰੁ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
ہؤ ڈھاڈھی ویکارُ کارے لایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): I was a minstrel, out of work, when the Lord took me into His service.
(Manmohan Singh): Me, the bard out of work, the Lord has applied to His service.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): I an idle bard by Thee a task am assigned:
(Kartar Singh Duggal): I was put on a job, an idle bard.
(Darshan Singh): I was a bard without work. He gave me work to do.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I was an unoccupied bard and had been summoned by the Guru through His Grace and assigned this job of praising the Lord.
(Anmol Singh Rode): A balladeer I was, out of work, when The Lord had taken me into His Service.

ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਹੈ ਕੈ ਵਾਰ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥
راتِ دہے کے وار دھرہُ پھرمایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): To sing His Praises day and night, He gave me His Order, right from the start.
(Manmohan Singh): In the very beginning He gave me the order to sing His praises night and day.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): In primal time was I commanded night and day to laud Thee.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): My primal task day and night was to laud.
(Darshan Singh): Many a times, Master ordered me to work (praise God) day and night.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I was ordained to sing the Lord’s praises day and night.
(Anmol Singh Rode): Night and day, to sing the Praises of The Lord — this Order was deputed to me from The Origin of Time Itself.
(Pashaura Singh, The Oxford Handbook of Sikh Studies): the Lord assigned me the task of singing the Divine Word day and night.
ਢਾਢੀ ਸਚੈ ਮਹਲਿ ਖਸਮਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
ڈھاڈھی سچے مہلِ کھسمِ بلایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): My Lord and Master has summoned me, His minstrel, to the True Mansion of His Presence.
(Manmohan Singh): The Master summoned the minstrel to His True Court.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): The bard by the Master to the Eternal Mansion was summoned
(Kartar Singh Duggal): To the True Mansion was the bard called.
(Darshan Singh): The Master sent for me, his bard, for His home.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): When I was called in the Lord’s Presence,
(Anmol Singh Rode): The Master had summoned me, His Minstrel, to the Court of The Lord.

ਸਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਪੜਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
سچی سپھتِ سالاہ کپڑا پایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): He has dressed me in the robes of His True Praise and Glory.
(Manmohan Singh): He clothed me with the robe of His true Honour and eulogy.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): And with the robe of holy Divine laudation and praise honoured.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): And for adoration and adulation given a reward.
(Darshan Singh): He honoured me (the bard) for praising, the real praiseworthy.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I was bestowed with the honour of singing the Praises of the True Lord.
(Anmol Singh Rode): He clothed me in the robes of His True Praise and Glory.
(Pashaura Singh, The Oxford Handbook of Sikh Studies): and bestowed on me the robe of honour for singing his praises.
ਸਚਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
سچا امرت نامُ بھوجنُ آیا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): The Ambrosial Nectar of the True Name has become my food.
(Manmohan Singh): Since then the True Name has become my ambrosial food.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): On the holy Name ambrosial was he feasted.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): Then came Name and Amrit, a feast from the Lord.
(Darshan Singh): He sent for me the food of real name-nectar.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): The Guru-minded persons, who received this nectar of True Name as their food,
(Anmol Singh Rode): Since then, the Amrit–Ambrosial Nectar of the True Name has become my food.
(Pashaura Singh, The Oxford Handbook of Sikh Studies): On me he bestowed the Divine Nectar (amrit) in a cup, the nectar of his true and holy Name.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਖਾਧਾ ਰਜਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
گرمتی کھادھا رجِ تنِ سکھُ پایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): Those who follow the Guru’s Teachings, who eat this food and are satisfied, find peace.
(Manmohan Singh): They, who under the Guru’s instruction, eat this food to their satisfaction, obtain peace.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): As by the Master's guidance on this he has feasted, has felt blessed.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): Guided by the Guru I took my food and was enthralled.
(Darshan Singh): In the wisdom of Guru, all eat it to full, and enjoy in happiness.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): partook this to their full satisfaction and joy; while others in their company also enjoyed the same satisfaction,
(Anmol Singh Rode): Those who adhere to Gurmat [Sikh Doctrine], consuming this food to satisfaction, find peace.
ਢਾਢੀ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥
ڈھاڈھی کرے پساؤ سبدُ وجایا ۔۔
(Sant Singh Khalsa): His minstrel spreads His Glory, singing and vibrating the Word of His Shabad.
(Manmohan Singh): By singing the Guru’s hymns, I the minstrel spread the Lord’s glory.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): The bard, Divine laudation by the holy Word, has spread and proclaimed.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): The bard propagated the Word and took it to every port where he called.
(Darshan Singh): The bard is illustrating, by playing on word.
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I, the Lord’s bard, convey the Lord’s message through these songs which I distribute wherever I go.
(Anmol Singh Rode): His Minstrel spreads the Glory of The Lord — singing the Eternal Word.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨੭॥ ਸੁਧੁ
نانک سچُ سالاہِ پورا پایا ۔۔۲۷۔۔ سدھُ
(Sant Singh Khalsa): O Nanak, praising the True Lord, I have obtained His Perfection. ||27||Sudh||
(Manmohan Singh): Nanak, by praising the True Name I have obtained the perfect Lord.
(Gurbachan Singh Talib): Saith Nanak: By laudation of the holy Eternal, is the Supreme Being, all-perfection, attained. (27) ‘Found correct’.
(Kartar Singh Duggal): Nanak sings the praises of the True and realised God. (27) Found correct
(Darshan Singh): Nanak says, “By praising the True, the bard is blessed with perfect.” 27. (Suddh)
(Gurbachan Singh Makin): (I only seek His blessings and sing His Praises) O Nanak! We should praise the True Master and this enables us to attain the Perfect Lord, through singing His Praises. 27 (checked)
(Anmol Singh Rode): O Nanak, by praising The True Lord, I have obtained His Perfection. ॥27॥ Sudh — Testified [Historically Verified & Correct by the Attestation of Guru Arjan Sahib] ॥
(Kishan Singh, The Encyclopaedia of Sikhism): The Bard was called by the Master into His mansion. He lauded Him and was honoured with a robe. God’s eternal Name was his food on which satiated he found His bliss (27). [Summary.]
