ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ ਹੈ ॥

اکُ اوئنکارُ واہگرو جی کی فتہِ ہے ۔۔

The One Creator Lord, Victory is of Vaheguru [The Wondrous Lord; God].

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਵਚ ਲਿਖ੍ਯਤੇ ॥

سری بھگؤتی برہم کوچ لکھیتے ۔۔

The Ballad of the Sword — Brahm Kavach is written.

ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ੧੦ ॥ پاتساہی ۱۰ ۔۔

Patshahi 10 — The Tenth Sovereign.

ਖੜਗ ਖੰਡਾ ਅਸੀ ਅਰਿਗਰ ਧਰਮ ਰੱਚ ਤੱਗ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥

کھڑگ کھنڈا اسی ارگر دھرم رچّ تگّ چھتری ۔۔

You are the Kharag (Sword), Khanda (Double-Edged Sword), Asi (Dual-Wield Sword) and Arigar (Dagger); Guardian of Dharam [Righteous Conduct in Faith] and the arms-belt of the Kshatriya Warrior.

ਬਿਸ਼੍ਵ ਪਾਲ ਭੂਪਾਲ ਪੱਛ ਪਲ ਭੱਛ ਰਣ ਕੱਛ ਅੱਤ੍ਰੀ ॥

بشو پال بھوپال پچھّ پل بھچھّ رن کچھّ اتری ۔۔

The Protector of the World, Sovereign of Rulers, in all regions and realms, Supreme in warfare.

ਰਾਜ ਮੰਡਾ ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਾ ਈਸ੍ਵਰੀ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਹੈ ॥

راج منڈا اتِ پرچنڈا ایسوری کروار ہے ۔۔

The Bringer of Raj–Rule, immensely fierce, the Supreme Wielder (of Power).

ਸ਼ਕਤਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੀ ਬੈਸ਼ਨਵੀ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਤੂੰ ਤਰਵਾਰ ਹੈ ॥

شکتِ برہمی بیشنوی بھوانی توں تروار ہے ۔۔

You are the Shakti–Power of Brahmi (Divine Mother aspect of Brahma; Wisdom), Vaishavi (Divine Mother aspect of Vishnu; Protection) and Bhavani (Divine aspect of the Goddess Durga; Giver of Life) — You are the Talwar–Sword.

ਨਿਤ ਜਿਯੋਤੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਇਕ ਧਾਰਾਧਾਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਹੈ ॥

نت جیوتی مکتِ دائک دھارادھار کرپان ہے ۔۔

You are the eternal light, the Bestower of Mukti–Liberation — sharp on both edges is Your Kirpan (Sword).

ਚੰਡਕਾ ਮੰਡਕਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਨਨੀ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਗੁਨਖਾਨਿ ਹੈ ॥

چنڈکا منڈکا مرتکا جگت جننی کالکا گنکھانِ ہے ۔۔

You are (the power of) Chandika–the Fierce (Demon-Destroying Divine Mother) Goddess [as Chandi], Mandika (another moniker), Mritka–(7 or 8) Mother-Goddesses, Mother of the World, Kalka–The Dark Evil-Destroying Goddess (Kali), a treasure trove of virtues.

ਭਵ ਮਾਨਕਾ ਖਲ ਹਾਂਨ ਕਾ ਰੱਤ ਪਾਲਕਾ ਜਗ ਮਾਨ ਹੈ ॥

بھو مانکا کھل ہانن کا رتّ پالکا جگ مان ہے ۔۔

You are the Dignity of Existence, Destroyer of the Wicked (Immoral), the Nurturer of Blood (Life-Sustainer), Esteemed of the World.

ਇਹ ਕਵਚਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕੋ ਬਤੀਸਾ ਪਢੈ ਜੋ ਨਿਤ ਛੱਤ੍ਰੀ ॥

اہ کوچِ برہما کو بتیسا پڈھے جو نت چھتری ۔۔

This Kavach of Brahm, whosoever reads 32-times continuously as a Kshatriya Warrior —

ਰਣ ਜੀਤ ਲੈਹ ਨਿਰਭੀਤ ਰਹਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਅੱਤ੍ਰੀ ॥

رن جیت لیہ نربھیت رہِ ردھِ سدھِ پاوے اتری ۔۔

Will be victorious, remaining fearless, and attain Ridh-Sidh–Spiritual Wealth and Strength.

ਲਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਜੋ ਪਢੈ ਬਿਪ੍ਰਬੈਸਯ ਧੰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸੰਪਤਾ ॥

لہِ بید بھید جو پڈھے بپربیسی دھنّ سکھ سمپتا ۔۔

(The Knowledge here) is as if a Brahmin were to learn the Vedas, a Vaishya [3rd in Hindu Caste; merchant/farmer] reading this will attain wealth, happiness and prosperity (for their family or household).

ਧਨ ਧਾਮ ਤਨ ਅਰੋਗ ਸੂਦਰ ਪਾਇ ਸੁਖ ਅਕੰਪਤਾ ॥

دھن دھام تن اروگ سودر پائ سکھ اکمپتا ۔۔

(Reading this) The Shudra [Lowest in Hindu Caste; worker] attains wealth, a home, health free of any ailments and unwavering peace.

ਇਹ ਬੋਲਾ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਬੀਰ ॥

اہ بولا ہرگوبند کا سنو خالسا بیر ۔۔

This speech of (Guru) Hargobind (Sahib), hear, O Khalsa–Pure Warriors!

ਫਤਿਹ ਪਾਉ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਮੈ ਪਕੜ ਹਾਥ ਸਮਸੀਰ ॥

فتہ پاؤ میدان مے پکڑ ہاتھ سمسیر ۔۔

Attain Fateh–Victory on the battlefield, grasp in your hand the Samsir–Scimitar.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ دوہرا ۔۔

Dohra [Couplet].

ਯਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਾਰ ਬਿਧ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ॥

یا بدھِ نامُ اچار بدھ پنّ کریو پریوگ ۔۔

By this way, recite The Naam–The Name of The Lord, practice and observe righteous acts.

ਪਾਠ ਸਵਾ ਲੱਖ ਹਵਨ ਕਰ ਜੀਤ ਜੰਗ ਤਬ ਹੇਗ ॥੧॥

پاٹھ سوا لکھّ ہون کر جیت جنگ تب ہیگ ۔۔۱۔۔

Reciting Paath (Sikh Prayers) is equivalent to performing Havan–(Hindu) Ritual Fire Worship 125,000 times — only then victory in war is achieved. ॥1॥
