ਵਰਤ ਨ ਰਹਉ ਨ ਮਹ ਰਮਦਾਨਾ ॥

ورت ن رہؤ ن مہ رمدانا ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I do not keep fasts, nor do I observe the month of Ramadaan.

(Manmohan Singh): I practise not fasting, not observe I the month of Ramzan.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): I observe neither fasting nor the ritual of the Ramadan month:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I observe no fast, nor any rituals of the Ramzan month.

(Darshan Singh): Neither I undertake fast, nor observe the month of Ramzan.

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I serve the only True Lord, who protects us at the end even as such I do not observe either Hindu fasts or believe (attach any importance) in the Muslim code of fasting in the month or Ramzan. (1)

(Anmol Singh Rode): I do not keep Hindu Varts–Ritual Fasts, nor do I fast during the (Islamic) Month of Ramadan.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਜੋ ਰਖੈ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥੧॥

تسُ سیوی جو رکھے ندانا ۔۔۱۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I serve only the One, who will protect me in the end. ||1||

(Manmohan Singh): I serve Him alone, who will save me in the end.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): Him I serve who at the last shall save. (1)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I serve Him who comes to my rescue at length. (1)

(Darshan Singh): O! Ignorant, serve One, who saves. 1

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I serve the only True Lord, who protects us at the end even as such I do not observe either Hindu fasts or believe (attach any importance) in the Muslim code of fasting in the month or Ramzan. (1)

(Anmol Singh Rode): I serve only the One Lord, who will protect me at my end. ॥1॥

ਏਕੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਅਲਹੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥

ایکُ گسائی الہُ میرا ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): The One Lord, the Lord of the World, is my God Allah.

(Manmohan Singh): The One Lord of the world is my God.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): The Lord of universe of the Hindus and Allah to me are one:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): For me Gosain and Allah are the same.

(Darshan Singh): My Gosain and Allah (God) is same one.

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): My Lord is the only one True Master, who enables us to settle all our disputes between the Hindu and Muslim (ways of thinking) codes of conduct. (Pause 1)

(Anmol Singh Rode): The One Gosain-Allah–Lord of The Senses-God, are Mine.

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਦੁਹਾਂ ਨੇਬੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ہندو ترک دہاں نیبیرا ۔۔۱۔۔ رہاؤ ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): He administers justice to both Hindus and Muslims. ||1||Pause||

(Manmohan Singh): He ministers justice to both the Hindus and Muslims. Pause.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): From Hindus and Muhammadans have I broken free. (I-Pause)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): Away from them I remain. (1) Refrain.

(Darshan Singh): Hindus and Turks (Muslims) both deserve same God. 1 (pause)

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): My Lord is the only one True Master, who enables us to settle all our disputes between the Hindu and Muslim (ways of thinking) codes of conduct. (Pause 1)

(Anmol Singh Rode): Both Hindus and Turks–Muslims, I have left behind. ॥1॥Refrain॥

ਹਜ ਕਾਬੈ ਜਾਉ ਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਪੂਜਾ ॥

ہجّ کابے جاؤ ن تیرتھ پوجا ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I do not make pilgrimages to Mecca, nor do I worship at Hindu sacred shrines.

(Manmohan Singh): I go not on pilgrimage to Mecca, nor worship I at the holies.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): I perform neither Kaaba pilgrimage nor at bathing spots worship:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I don’t go to Kaaba for Haj nor to any temple for homage to offer.

(Darshan Singh): I neither go for Haj, at Kaba, nor for worship at Tirath.

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): Neither do I visit Macca on my pilgrimage of Haj, according to Muslims nor do I worship the Lord by visiting Hindu centres of holy pilgrimage,

(Anmol Singh Rode): I do not make Hajj–the Mandatory Pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca, nor do I perform any Hindu Pooja–Ritual Worship at Hindu Tiraths–Shrines.

ਏਕੋ ਸੇਵੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੨॥

ایکو سیوی اورُ ن دوجا ۔۔۲۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I serve the One Lord, and not any other. ||2||

(Manmohan Singh): I serve only the one Lord and not any other.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): One sole Lord I serve, and no other. (2)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I serve only One, none other. (2)

(Darshan Singh): I serve only One, and no second. 2

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): as I serve only one True Lord, without giving any importance to any other power. (2)

(Anmol Singh Rode): I serve only The One Lord and not any second. ॥2॥

ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਉ ਨ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਗੁਜਾਰਉ ॥

پوجا کرؤ ن نواج گجارؤ ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers.

(Manmohan Singh): I perform not Hindu worship, nor offer I Muslim prayer.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): I perform neither the Hindu worship nor namaz:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I worship not nor offer prayer,

(Darshan Singh): Neither I worship (like Hindus) nor I offer Namaz, (prayer like Muslims).

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): Neither do I worship the Hindu gods nor do I believe in Muslim prayer or Namaz

(Anmol Singh Rode): I perform neither any Hindu Pooja–Ritual Worship, or partake in Namaz (Salah)–the Mandatory 5 Islamic Prayers.

ਏਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਲੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਉ ॥੩॥

ایک نرنکار لے ردے نمسکارؤ ۔۔۳۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I have taken the One Formless Lord into my heart; I humbly worship Him there. ||3||

(Manmohan Singh): Taking the One Formless Lord into my mind, I make obeisance unto Him there.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): To the Sole Formless Lord in my heart I bow. (3)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): The Formless alone I adore. (3)

(Darshan Singh): Submitting before one God, I bow before Him from my heart. 3

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): as I salute the One Lord, who is formless, by inculcating His love in my heart. (3)

(Anmol Singh Rode): The One Nirankar–Formless Lord, I have placed in my heart — I pay obeisance to The Lord there. ॥3॥

ਨਾ ਹਮ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਨ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ॥

نا ہم ہندو ن مسلمان ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): I am not a Hindu, nor am I a Muslim.

(Manmohan Singh): I am neither a Hindu, nor a Muslim.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): We neither are Hindus nor Musalmans:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): I am neither a Hindu nor a Musalman.

(Darshan Singh): Neither I am a Hindu, nor a Musalman.

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): Neither am I a Hindu nor a Musalman

(Anmol Singh Rode): I am neither Hindu or Muslim.

ਅਲਹ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰਾਨ ॥੪॥

الہ رام کے پنڈُ پران ۔۔۴۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): My body and breath of life belong to Allah - to Raam - the God of both. ||4||

(Manmohan Singh): My body and soul belong to Him, who is called God of Muslims and the Lord of Hindus.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): Our body and life is Allah-Rama’s. (4)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): My body and breath are Allah and Rama. (4)

(Darshan Singh): I am breath and body of both, Allah (God for Muslims) and Ram (God for Hindus). 4

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): as I consider the True Lord alone as my True Master, whom I would offer myself as a sacrifice even, as He is dearer to me than my life even. (4)

(Anmol Singh Rode): To Allah-Ram, The One Lord of Both, my body and breath belong to. ॥4॥

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥

کہُ کبیر اہُ کیا وکھانا ۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): Says Kabeer, this is what I say:

(Manmohan Singh): Says Kabir, this wise utter I the truth,

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): Thus has Kabir preached:

(Kartar Singh Duggal): This is what Kabir has sermonised

(Darshan Singh): I tell you Kabir, This my version.

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): Says Kabir, I have already clarified by my discourses that,

(Anmol Singh Rode): As (Saint) Kabir has previously preached:

ਗੁਰ ਪੀਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਖੁਦਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੫॥੩॥

گر پیر ملِ کھدِ کھسمُ پچھانا ۔۔۵۔۔۳۔۔

(Sant Singh Khalsa): Meeting with the Guru, my Spiritual Teacher, I realize God, my Lord and Master. ||5||3||

(Manmohan Singh): that meeting with the Guru the Prophet, I have realised my Lord.

(Gurbachan Singh Talib): By contact with the Preceptor, the Lord have we realized. (5) (3)

(Kartar Singh Duggal): Meeting the Guru and Pir the Lord I’ve recognised. (5) 3

(Darshan Singh): joining together, Guru and Peer, themselves have realized the same Master. 5.3

(Gurbachan Singh Makin): I have realised my True Lord through the teachings of both the (Hindu) Gurus and the Muslim saints. (5 - 3)

(Anmol Singh Rode): “Meeting the Guru-Pir, I have realized The Lord”. ॥5॥3॥
